A neat set made in France in the late 18th century by Marseilles which was founded by Joseph-Gaspard Robert as a faience factory. The set is very well made of hard paste porcelain and hand painted all around with a silver luster. The paste is a little smokey off white or greyish in color and has the usual in the making flaws of the smaller makers of this time period like black firing spots and extra paste pieces here and there.

There are three pieces - two lidded pots and a sugar dish. The sugar dish is in perfect condition but missing the lid I assume. The taller and skinnier lidded pot is in good condition with the finial reglued and a little wear to the finial top and spout end. The shorter and wider pot has the spot front missing. They are all marked in under glaze blue and incised numbers. The sugar has an L or V with one dot over each end in blue as well as incised No, 1, 3 and the letter S. The skinnier pot has an L or V with one dot in the center as well as incised N, 1., 5. The wider pot has a blue mark I cannot make out as well as incised No, 1, 4, and the letter S. The sugar dish is 2.125 inches tall and 2.875 inches in diameter. The taller pot is 5.5 inches tall and 2.625 inches in diameter. The shorter pot is 5.25 inches tall and 2.875 inches in diameter.
